This statement has
been prepared to help people with disabilities and physical
impairment to assess whether these premises will be accessible
to them.
The
Bungalow:
- The
property is a semi-detached self catering, single story 2 Bed roomed
bungalow on a largely level site of over 240 similar
properties.
- Access
to the bungalow is approximately 20 metres from a private
tarmac coated parking area and road with a slightly ramped
900mm wide concrete pathway leading to a short strip of
grassed area located alongside a wide & level paved
patio laid to the front of the property. The access doorway
leads off this area.
- Access
to the property entrance has one step (140mm high over the
door cill) although a wheelchair ramp can be provided on
request from the site office; the property is not fully
adapted for wheelchair users.
- The
main entrance is approximately 870 mm wide with minimum
internal door width’s being 710 mm.
- The
bedrooms and bathroom are restricted in layout and size and
considered unsuitable for wheelchair's to maneuver within.
- A
shower is located over the bath with a “telephone type”
hand set at one end plus a traditional high level shower
head at the other end of the bath.
- Guide
dogs are welcome.
- The
property has the benefit of long range sea views & looks
out over a large open playing field which has level access
across the grass to the adjacent heath land from where long
range views of the Needles and the mainland can be enjoyed.
- Access
to the sand and shingle beach is via steep wooden steps or a
steep slipway.
- The
nearest bus stop is approximately 1 .2 km. distance and
access to the site is via an un-adopted road in poor
condition with occasional pot holes and unmarked ramps or
via an uneven pedestrian coastal pathways.
Getting There:
- The
Lymington to Yarmouth Ferry is approximately 5 km. from
Brambles Chine. Taxis are usually available.
