been prepared to help people with disabilities and physical
impairment to assess whether these premises will be accessible
to them.
The bungalow
-Brambles Chine 129
is a self catering, single storey bungalow on a largely level
and flat estate.
-The bungalow is
accessed via a flat path of approximately twenty metres and
short grass area, to the side, with a flat patio access to the
door.
-Access to the
bungalow is via a small step and the property is not fully
equipped for wheelchair users or disabled persons.
-There are no
stairs in the internal structure of the bungalow.
-All beds are at
ground level, with no bunk beds.
-The property has a
bath with a shower, but no lifting facility.
-Minimum internal
door width is 74cms.
-We cannot accept
guide dogs.
-Main entrance/exit
is via the main door in the event of fire.
-The property has
an audio smoke detector and fire extinguisher.
Getting there
-The nearest bus
stop is ¾ miles away, with buses running hourly at least
serving Newport, Freshwater and Yarmouth on service 7 and a
circular tour on service 42 towards Yarmouth and Alum Bay.
-The road leading
to the estate is an unadopted one, with speed humps and in a
generally poor condition.
-The ferry port is
two miles away at Yarmouth, with a regular service to
Lymington, with taxis available during the day and by
arrangement in the evening.
-The nearest
railhead is 6 miles away via ferry at Lymington Pier, all
trains run to Brockenhurst, where there are connections for
Bournemouth, London and the Midlands.
-Alternatively
there are rail connections from the ferry at Ryde Pier
Head/Esplanade, twenty miles away, with onward connection by
bus or taxi, changing at Newport form service 9.
-Access to the
beach is via steep steps at Linstone Chine or a third party
owned slipway at Brambles Chine which is also steep.
